My apologies for a bit of a lull on the blog. I am going to get a few posts up this week! As most of you know – I really enjoy my time posting pictures from my family shoots and writing about our time together.

I actually saw these two sweet sweet little girls this morning. I met their Mom to deliver some prints. Writing this just brings a smile to my face. They were waiting in the window and as soon as I pulled up both of them waved frantically at me. I laughed OUT LOUD in my car. They made my heart smile these two. I got lots of hugs and laughs from them. It’s moments like these that keep me going. Thank you girls!):

You would never know it by how good this family looks but we shot on a day that might have been about 35 degrees! It was the first week of July during that awesome heat wave we had. We had such a fantastic morning together. I loved my time with you – you are a terrific family and I look forward to our next shoot and to seeing your beautiful family up on your walls!!

It’s not often I blog pictures of our girls – probably because I don’t take as many pictures of them as I should. The girls and I went out a month ago for an evening “photoshoot”. The girls are so onto the lingo now. However, our youngest, still calls me a “tophograher” and she asks me who I “photoshooted” today when we lay in bed at night. With well laid out bribes that evening the girls got “photoshooted” by Mommy.

My heart is so full. Full of the life that I have. Our incredible girls, our family and friends and this path I have choosen for my career. I fall head over heels in love over and over with these two every day. They are my life. Thanks girls for (semi) behaving for Mommy on that beautiful July evening!

A little update since this shoot….Claire has since lost her front tooth and both girls wanted haircuts like “Beezus and Ramona” so off went 4 inches of hair.

This shoot was a special one for me. This intelligent and very beautiful young woman and her family are important to us. They are a family that used to live across the street (they recently moved – sniff sniff!!!) This was the first young lady that babysat our girls outside of our immediate family. Our girls have many wonderful memories of groovy girls, colouring and misbehaving with this young woman. I met up with Miss E at her highschool prom back in June. I was there assisting, Ang, with the prom photos. I could not believe my eyes when I saw her! Braces gone! All grown up! A beautiful young woman now! It actually choked me up. So shortly after prom we went out for a shoot to celebrate Miss E’s graduation AND entrance to the world’s greatest university…WESTERN!!!!

Where, where does the time go?

Here we are in August! I can barely wrap my head around the fact that we are into the last few weeks of summer. I always feel a little sad this time of year since the light starts to dim a lot sooner than it did a month ago. And YES….Christmas mini sessions have begun to book! I will have details and card designs up by Sepetember 1st!

Here is a family session from the first week of July. Remember that week?? Let me remind you in one word. HOT. 35 plus degrees. I commend this family for braving the mid day temps of close to 40 degrees to have their family shoot. It will not take you long to see how incredibly fun and animated this family is…especially that little one of theirs. Thank you so much for giving it your all in that heat and I look forward to seeing you again! I really enjoyed my time with you!

ps ladies…I really think there will be a wedding out of the Bachelorette this time and although Chris L was my personal favourite – I am hoping he comes back as the next Bachelor. I could take a few more weeks of him on my tv.

Fast forward to 2009. I re-connect with my JK and SK best buddy (hence why I love facebook so much!). We lived on the same street. We each had a sister and our parents hung out together. I could not do this post without using my friends’ JK photo. This is exactly how I remember her. For awhile after she posted this picture I could not stop myself from re-visiting the late 70′s in my mind.  I am so happy to have re-connected with you and I could not have been anymore excited to receive your message to do your family photos. Back to the city I love….London, Ontario and back to the campus I so dearly love….Western. We had a beautiful May day and lots of laughs and good conversation. We had a lot of years to cover!!

Thanks to the “boys” for their patience and Mr. J…your modeling debut is here and now! You were fantastic! So handsome! Thanks again to all of you from the bottom of my heart.

I am so proud of you my JK/SK friend. A law professor. You looked so smart in those glasses then…there was a reason why!

It’s been awhile since my last blog post! We took a much needed family holiday for just over a week. I definitely needed to re-charge going into this month. August is full full full of fantastic bellies, babies, families and yes…my first wedding. Once again I am about 30 posts behind. Big sigh. I have so many people to share with all of you! So many wonderful memories.

This couple came through dear friends of mine. How sweet that to celebrate their fifth anniversary they wanted a photoshoot together! We had a beautiful summer evening. Just the right amount of light, wind and LAUGHS. It wasn’t difficult to get them laughing and having fun with one another. Thank you so much for thinking of me to celebrate this special occasion between the two of you. And YES I am looking forward to some little ones from you two to photograph and C…just let her decorate the whole house in these pictures ok?! You are both WONDERFUL!

As July comes to a close I want to thank all of my incredible clients! It has been one amazing month of families, babies and parents-to-be. Even a 50th wedding anniversary!

I just had to blog this maternity shoot today. What could be more exciting than posting this incredible couple on their due date! Yes…today is the day.

We could not have asked for a more perfect night. When I get a London calling – I go running! Anything to get me back to the city that owns my heart is good for me. We had a fantastic time together. Laughing….talking…taking pictures and talking some more. I am looking forward to the message that your baby has arrived. Best wishes for a safe and speedy delivery!

Holy cow! Where is this summer going????  Here I am once again terribly far behind in my blogging. I really do enjoy putting together a blog post. It’s just that darn time factor….

This family! How do I express to you? Where do I start? This wonderful family lives on our street. Yet we had not met before. And just as life goes – we meet – and now we see each other all the time!  We had a spectacular “light” night for this shoot and this family came dressed to play and also brought with them an incredible attitude. There was no need to force a thing between the family members here. They genuinely have fun with one another and simply adore…MOM! Mom – your passion towards your family and the importance of keeping up to date photos blew me away. I loved your energy! Thanks for a night of fantastic memories everyone. These are just a small snapshot of the photos we took. So many to choose from!

Hope this finds people staying cool amidst this heat wave! For the most part I am staying quite cool under a mountain of editing!

I absolutely love my children, babies and families but I do enjoy when an opportunity comes along to take headshots for people. This is the sister of one of my clients. She happened to be home from New York for a little vacation and wanted to get some portfolio pictures…she is an actress! Oh la la. Needless to say this stay at home mom/photographer from Waterloo was a little starry eyed. Sarah – you were just fantastic to work with! You certainly made my job quite easy. Looking forward to seeing you again sometime and if you see Anne Hathaway – please say hello to her for me. I think she is just awesome! Oh and Kate Hudson…and Kate Winslet and maybe Meryl Streep):

And to my friends state side – Happy July 4th!

I have been very excited to blog this shoot. As most of you know – I began my photography business in the early spring of last year. This beautiful baby girl was SIX days old when a friend of mine referred me to her. I was in my portfolio building stages and she is the second newborn I ever photographed. I was privileged to photograph her again when she was seven months old and then again when she turned ONE! I was sincerely choked up when I arrived on their family farm. We had a wonderful time together on a beautiful May morning capturing her in the same place her Mom grew up. She loved Grandma’s garden but most of all the swing. The same swing her Mom played on as a child. All of this made the shoot that much more special. You have incredibly loving parents little one…and I look forward to seeing you again in the fall! You might be able to say my name by then!
