baby time

It’s out there. I love this age. As my girls get older I find myself feeling sad that these times are over. We celebrated Claire’s 11th birthday this past weekend. We leafed through photos the morning of her birthday with her. Page after page of this very stage. Where did it go?

I am thankful to have a job that I can still have a few of these moments to hold onto. Happy 1st Birthday to you. Enjoy every moment.

Much love,

Hilary xo

Dad and I met in grade 11. We chummed together and learned to drive together. Years later we re connected and I have been privileged to have been a small part of some of the best moments of his life.

Engagement, wedding, newborn once, newborn twice…

I get teary looking at these. We all turned 40 last year but I can still see that high school face. Smiling, laughing. The love you have for the family you have made together is admirable.

Much happiness to you,

Hilary xo

holding on

Photos hold memories. Joy. Grief. Fear. Happiness. Pain. Hope.

I wish everyone could know this woman. For all of us that do – we thank the universe for bringing her into all of our lives. She is the proud owner of Mes Amis Montessori School. “Mes Amis is French Immersion Preschool dedicated to providing children in our community a one of a kind education. Serving and nurturing the needs of the whole child in a home away from home.”

This session was a last minute “I need to do this for my daughter and I” kind of thing. Days after this session Mom would head into surgery to remove a cancerous thyroid. I always think of this session as “Holding On”. Holding onto those we love, holding onto what is familiar to us. Holding on because we know that letting go can be just plain scary. I am thrilled to say that Mom is healthy. Happy. Back to her life’s passion of being a mother, wife, and teacher.

We all love you. We cherish what you bring to our lives.

Much gratitude and joy to you,

Hilary xo

as always, these moments in time are so beautifully captured… what I love most is the emotional heart tugging that is evoked… even without knowing the backstory the viewer undoubtedly FEELS the love in these frames. xo

Dearest Hilary,
Tears of Gratitude as I look through these images, and they remind me of a time you brought so much love and comfort into our lives, when it was most needed. The journey to health continues, and these photos will continue to be a source of strength and so much joy. ‘Holding on’ truly summed up this day, and the many days that have followed since. Your images have always had the power to bring me to tears. Today so did your words. Thank you, friend. xoxo

She is a truly spiritual teacher and one whom I deeply admire. These pictures are beautiful of her and her daughter. You have captured a very sensitive moment in their lives.
