Hello to everyone!
Life really is good. But sometimes it throws things at you that you could never possibly imagine. I met Beth when she and her friend, Marny, came to my house to have their headshots taken. Beth and Marny both lost their husbands to cancer when their children were very young.
Beth and I met again a few weeks later and had a wonderful afternoon taking photos of her family. I felt sadness and hope all at the same time. I knew their family was missing their dad and husband. But I also felt hope for them all as we made new memories in their lives.
Marny and Beth are incredibly inspirational women. I would like to share with you the support group they have founded together for young widows.
“As a result of their own personal experiences, the foundsers of the Hummingbird Centre for Hope recognized that young parents face extraordinary and ongoing hardships when they become the sole guardians of their families in grief. The vision of the Hummingbird Centre for Hope is to provide widowed people with support in all areas of their grief – to help ease the burdens they are forced to carry. In an environment of hope and understanding, ongoing initiatives will provide individuals with tools, knowledge, courage and strength to create renewed sense of self, as they work to rebuild the lives and dreams of their young families.”
The Hummingbird Centre for Hope opens officially on April 11th. You can find them on facebook at www.facebook.com/pages/Hummingbird-Centre-for-HOPE/242896569102373 or on twitter at @hummingbrdHope.
You can contact Marny directly at firstname.lastname@example.org
Much love to you both.
